The analysis unfolds along three central perspectives. First, catastrophism. Participants perceived the future as an era of ecological catastrophe. This perception extended beyond climate change itself to encompass a broader sense of systemic crisis intertwined with excessive competition, gender-based violence, and social inequality in Korean society. It ultimately crystallized into the question, \u201cIs this a world in which a child could live?\u201d, leading to the decision not to have children. Second, reflexivity. For these individuals, childbirth was no longer an unquestioned life task, but a matter requiring ethical and normative reflection. Employing the moral code of \u201cperpetrator\/victim,\u201d they aspired to \u201charmlessness\u201d\u2014one that could not be reduced to either side of the binary. Third, the unborn child. Though lacking physical existence, the child is shaped in the parents\u2019 imagination and functions as a \u201csemiotic actor.\u201d As a being symbolically endowed with the question, \u201cMother, why did you give birth to me?\u201d, the child exerts agency to prompt participants\u2019 ethical reflection and sense of responsibility.
